Swamps

Almost all The Nemunas Delta Regional Park area, except for rinsed elevations moraine surface is affected by various age wetland formations processes. The main park bog- lowland complexes are as follows: Aukštumalos marsh (3018 ha, actually intact - 1017 ha) Rupkalvių marsh (3410 acres, actually intact - 166.7 ha), (1450 ha, actuallyHunting Swamp intact - 208.1 hectares), Berštu swamp - 517 acres, Leitgirių swamp - 166 hectares. A very valuable Delta bog creates unique conditions for the growth of plant communities, which are the only kind deltoid bogs in Lithuania.
